Sheffield Wednesday will welcome Bluebell Wood to Hillsborough as official charity partner for the Championship clash with Huddersfield on Saturday.
Volunteers from the charity will hold a bucket collection around the ground before kick-off and both SWFC and Bluebell Wood would like to thank everyone in advance for their generosity.
The North Anston children’s hospice provides care and support to families who have a child with a shortened life expectancy and in order to raise vital funds, the team is running a number of Christmas campaigns including Sienna’s Sparkle Appeal.
Two-year-old Sienna Roberts from Burngreave, Sheffield, has been diagnosed with vocal cord palsy, obronchial malacia and subglottic stenosisand.
As a baby Sienna had to have a tracheostomy fitted and her mum Sara was told by doctors that her daughter would never be able to speak.
This Christmas Sara is asking people to donate to the hospice instead of buying Christmas cards and she has taken part in a special video ‘Sienna’s Sparkle Appeal’ to raise awareness of the hospice.
The video can be sent as an e-card to your family and friends instead of the usual traditional Christmas card.
“Bluebell Wood is our lifeline” says mum Sara “it’s a real home from home and the whole family are so comfortable here.
“It allows us to spend quality time together as a family without worrying about Sienna’s medication needs and it’s enabled Cordelia to spend some precious time with her sister.
“I hope everyone will get behind Sienna’s Sparkle Appeal which will raise much needed funds to enable more local families like ours to receive the vital care they require from Bluebell Wood.”
