An even share of the spoils was a fair reflection of the game said Dave Jones following Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Ipswich.
Paul Anderson’s opener was promptly cancelled out by Michail Antonio and each side emerged with a point apiece at Hillsborough.
Jones said: “A draw was a fair result because I thought Ipswich were the better side in the first half and we were the better side in the second.
“We just needed that second goal and we almost got it when JJ struck a worldy that hit the bar. But then they hit the post before that so it evens itself out.
“I wish we could have put on more of a show in front of our own supporters like we did at Brighton in midweek when we were passing it around and looked sharper but we’ve had a long trip and it can take it out of the players.
“We have six draws now and we should have turned some of those draws into wins. Only once do I feel we have not been in a game and that was Birmingham but we have been in all the others and today I felt it took us a bit of time to get going but we deserved the point.”
The Owls now head into the latest international break and Jones says it will be business as usual on the training ground.
He added: “We will be in next week and the only time off will be next weekend, when we don’t have a game.
“The break will give us time for some of the players with little knocks to recover but we will be training as normal because we have some big games coming up.
“Reda felt his groin today and came off so we will assess that and hopefully is it nothing serious.”
