Big week ahead

With Wednesday’s trip to Bolton now in sight following the international break, Owls ace Miguel Llera has said the squad must remain 100 per cent focused in the build-up to the Sky Bet Championship clash.

On day one of training this week, Llera spoke to swfc.co.uk upon his arrival at the club’s Middlewood Road training base and insists nothing will be left to chance as Wednesday go in hunt of three points at the Reebok.

Llera said: “We’re back from the international break with no game at the weekend and now we need to start this week 100 per cent focused. We have to have a strong week in training and remain focused all throughout.

"The players are excited for this next game because it is very important for us. Today is the first day of training and we will all arrive ready to give everything and work as hard as we can to prepare.

"We have to go about our business in the right way, focus hard this week, get it right in training and bring it to Bolton where we want to take home three points."

The Owls now face a double-header of fixtures on the road with Bolton up first, followed by a crunch live televised clash with Barnsley one week later.

"We are looking forward to the next couple of games because they are against two teams who are close to us in the table, meaning there is a lot riding on them," the Spanish defender added.

"It is a huge chance for us to get points on the board and lift ourselves higher in the league.

"I think we have played well in the last three games, so the break for me wasn’t the best having to wait two weeks until the next game.

"It’s never easy playing away from home in this division and it will be a tough game against Bolton but it’s one we are looking forward to."
