The Owls’ Under-18s posted a comprehensive 5-0 win over Crewe at Middlewood Road on Saturday morning.
A Charlie Dawes hat-trick together with goals from Simon Hanna and Sean Mullen swept the visitors aside as Wednesday romped to victory.
Coach Steve Haslam said: “We couldn’t be happier with the result and performance.
“We had a gameplan and the lads executed it to the letter.
“Charlie Dawes will take the plaudits for his hat-trick and he did have a great game but the whole team deserves credit, especially for the way we battled to the end to ensure we kept a clean sheet.”
The academy side are next in action at home to Crystal Palace on Saturday 28 October.
