Owls: Matty Fryatt is in line to start for Wednesday having extended his loan stay by a further month.
The striker scored twice in five appearances during his first month at Hillsborough.
Jose Semedo will serve the second game of his three-match ban.
David Prutton (ankle) is ruled out, while Seyi Olofinjana could make his first appearance on home soil after re-signing for the club last week.
Reading: Wayne Bridge (knee) is a doubt for the Royals but Nigel Adkins has cover for the former England international with Stephen Kelly available.

One to watch – Garath McCleary
The ex-Forest man is leading the way in terms of assists at the Madejski this season with five to his name.
Also noted for his goalscoring ability, McCleary, who was crowned as Forest’s Player of the Season in May 2012 before joining the Royals, has notched one goal so far this term in his side’s 4-1 win over Doncaster last month.
