New Owls recruit Damian Martinez will feature in the squad that travels to Bolton on Saturday.

The Arsenal shot stopper joined Wednesday on a month-long loan from Premiership giants Arsenal this week and Dave Jones has been impressed by what he has seen so far.

The Owls’ boss said: “The boy has a lot of talent, that is for sure. He is very agile, he is very alert and has great reflexes.

“We’ve been really impressed with Damian in training and we are grateful to Arsenal for their help in this deal.

“He came to us with a very good recommendation from Terry Burton, who looks after their young players, and I would have no hesitation in playing him if we have to do so.

He continued: “I don’t quite think Cameron Dawson is ready at 18-years-old and although Damian is only three years older, he has more experience and that is what we wanted in terms of pushing Chris Kirkland.

“Damian has a couple of senior games under the belt for Arsenal and he’s had call-ups for the full Argentina international squad.”

Martinez has been allocated shirt number 26 for the Owls and is scheduled to stay at Hillsborough until the latter part of November.
