The Owls’ Under-21s progressed into the next round of the inaugural Premier League Cup with a 2-1 win over Huddersfield at Bury’s Gigg Lane on Tuesday.
And Wednesday came from behind to post an impressive win after Jordan Sinnott put the Terriers into a first half lead.
But the Owls hit back after the break with a Manny Dieseruvwe brace, the second goal of which was struck right at the last to seal victory.
Coach Lee Bullen said: “We’re really pleased with the win because Huddersfield are a good team and top of our division.
“But we were a good match for them and as the game wore in, it turned into a bit of a basketball game with both sides having chances.
“We got the winner, though, and credit to the lads for putting in an excellent shift throughout.”
