Sheffield Wednesday Under-21s are in action this evening against local rivals Barnsley at Hillsborough.
The Under-21 Professional Development League 2 fixture is set for a 7.00pm kick off.
Development Squad head coach Lee Bullen said: “No matter what age group you are competing in, playing in a local derby is always a special occasion.
“Barnsley have started well and made good use of their over-age players and you can see their senior players have really benefitted the squad.
“We will have one or two of our senior players involved tonight to help the younger members of the squad who are short of experience.
“There will be a number of 16 and 17 year olds in the squad and it will be a fantastic opportunity for them to play at Hillsborough under the floodlights, with first team players and hopefully with a few supporters there to watch the game.
“It will also be nice to see one of my former team mates Paul Heckingbottom, who is doing a terrific job with Barnsley’s Under-21 side.”
