Confident Coke

10 September 2013

Owls midfielder Giles Coke is eager for the weekend to come around as Wednesday resume their league campaign following the international break.

Prior to the break, Wednesday drew consecutive games with Leeds, Millwall and Middlesbrough and while the Owls are unbeaten in three, Coke believes that first win of the season is just around the corner.

He told swfc.co.uk: “When that first win comes, we’ll go on to win many more, I’m confident of that.

“We’re unbeaten in three games, we’re eager to get that first win, morale is high and I’m sure if you ask the boys, they’d all have been happy to have the Yeovil game last weekend.

“While we haven’t won as yet, we are unbeaten in three after difficult games away from home against Leeds and Middlesbrough and we want to get back out there and build on those positives.”

Yeovil, under the guidance of boss Gary Johnson, are the visitors to Hillsborough this weekend.

The Glovers secured Championship football last season after a successful League 1 Play-Off campaign but have struggled so far this season with four defeats from five games.

Coke is confident in his side’s ability to post three points on the board this weekend and continued:

“Yeovil did unbelievably well to get promoted last season and they have got some good players so it won’t be an easy game.

“They’ll come here and aim to up their performance so we’ll have to bring our A game but I’m confident we can emerge with the maximum points.”
