Staff from Sheffield Wednesday overcame obstacles of all shapes and sizes to triumph as winners of an It’s a Knockout competition in the name of charity.
The event, in aid of local children’s hospice Bluebell Wood, saw seventeen teams battle against each other dressed in huge giant suits.
Contestants fought their way through suds and bubbles, climbing slippery slopes and diving into washing machines!
Workers from Wednesday battled hard to claim top spot beating off close competition from second place winners Cemex and third place Aviva Avengers.
As well as the It’s a Knockout contest, hosts Dinnington Rugby Club held a family fun day with stalls, children’s rides, bouncy castles and a BBQ which drew in crowds of more than 1,000 visitors and looks set to raise over £12,000 for Bluebell Wood.
Julie Hampson, Corporate Fundraiser at Bluebell Wood said: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who made the event possible especially Dinnington Rugby Club, our support group Blu Crew and all the contestants who took part.”
Speaking of Sheffield Wednesday, she added: “They have raised a fantastic amount of money for us, implemented some unique fundraising initiatives and had great interaction with our families.
“We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved and look forward to continuing our working relationship with them in the future.”
