Owls' matchday programme honoured

30 April 2014

The Owls’ award-winning matchday programme has scooped another major prize – and one of the most coveted in the industry.

The IV Northern Programme Club have handed Sheffield Wednesday the sought-after Merit Award for ‘the consistency of a top quality football programme over a number of years’.

The award is the latest recognition for the club’s official matchday programme, which includes Best Value For Money programme in the Championship last season voted by NPC and the North & Midlands Programme of the Year the previous campaign.

NPC editor Jack Mitton said: “The Merit Awards are chosen on the consistency of a top quality football programme over a number of years.

“Sheffield Wednesday have continually provided their readers with excellent programmes which include some stunning page designs and innovative features.

“The Wednesday programme has consistently offered extremely good value for money, and especially with the added ingredient of a perfect-bound spine, the quality of the programme has been enhanced even further.

“My congratulations go to everyone at the club.”

The Owls’ Director of Communications Trevor Braithwait added: “We welcome any award with open arms and this one in particular because of its desirable nature.

“Our matchday programme is a key component of the club’s communication profile and the media team channel a significant amount of resource into the publication as a result.

“We strive to give our loyal readers value for money and an entertaining read, whilst getting the aesthetics right too, and this award reflects that policy.

“I would like to thank NPC for this prestigious award and also everyone who helps make the programme the success that it is - and not least our partners, O Publishing & Media.”
