Spoil the party

4 April 2014

Head coach Stuart Gray has challenged his players to produce a big performance against runaway leaders Leicester.

Depending on results elsewhere and with victory this evening, the Foxes could see their promotion to the Premier League confirmed this weekend.

As the Sky Sports cameras descend on King Power Stadium, Gray has set his players the task of completing an unlikely double over the Foxes.

“We want to go there and spoil their party,” Gray said. “We had a good win against them at our place. I’m sure Nigel will be reminding them of that.

“It’s a great challenge, we’re facing the team that will certainly be crowned champions of this division.

“They’ve won the most games, they’ve got the best squad and they’ve scored the most goals.

“But it will be a good game for us to bounce back after the disappointment of last Saturday.”

The Foxes have lost just one game on home soil this season but Gray insists there is nothing to fear heading into the Championship clash.

The head coach continued: “One thing I do know is that against Leicester we’ll be more competitive, we’ll be in their faces and it’s a great challenge.

“It’s one not to fear; it’s one for my players to put themselves into one v one battles and come out on top.

“We showed unbelievable quality against Leicester at Hillsborough. It allowed me to say to the players: ‘that’s the bar you’ve set; let’s not drop below it.’ And we went on a decent run. Credit to the players.

“We’re the underdogs. But we look forward to the challenge.”
