Coke takes the positives

30 August 2014

  • Giles Coke takes positives from Forest clash
  • No fixture next weekend due to international break
  • Midfielder confident Owls will come back strong

Owls midfielder Giles Coke has said defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday will not dent the confidence and morale in the squad.

Wednesday slipped to their first loss of the campaign to the league leaders but Coke believes the result will do little to disrupt the feelgood factor in S6.

Stuart Gray’s side have proven tough to crack during the opening month and Coke has said Wednesday will bounce back after the international break.

“I think we were unfortunate not to get anything from the game against a top, top side,” he said.

“Everyone is seeing that we are a good side, we’ve got good players, we’re playing good football and have a good manager.

“We can definitely take positives from the Forest game, we’ll go into the international break, come back and start again.”

The Owls face Bolton at The Macron Stadium in two weeks’ time after the break but for Coke, that game cannot come soon enough.

He added: “I just like to play, you have a week without a game and you’re just itching to get back. For me, I just want to continue and I wish we had a game next Saturday to be honest.

“Morale is high in the group because we know we played well against Forest despite the result, so I’ve got no doubt that when we come back, we’ll carry on as we were.”
