Hallam hoping for Owls success

29 August 2014

  • Hallam Hope signed for the Owls on Friday
  • Everton striker eligible for live Sky clash
  • Hope brings promising record to Hillsborough

New loan recruit Hallam Hope is out to impress at Hillsborough and replicate the success of his two previous Football League spells.

The Everton striker joined the Owls on Friday and has ambitions of making an immediate impact.

He told swfc.co.uk: “I am here to further my career and hopefully score some goals for Sheffield Wednesday.

“I have two loan spells under the belt last season with Northampton and then Bury.

“I scored one goal in three games for Northampton and five in eight games for Bury so that will give me the confidence to come to a club the size of Sheffield Wednesday.”

After laying the foundations with the Cobblers, Hope really motored on at Gigg Lane and became the first Bury player in 14 years to bag a hat-trick.

In addition, Hope has progressed successfully through the England youth ranks.

The 20-year-old is now aiming to bring that kind of pedigree to S6 during his loan deal that runs initially until 1 January 2015.

He added: “I am buzzing to get started. We have a great game against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, it’s live on Sky and I would love to be involved.

“I enjoyed my loans with Northampton and Bury, they are really nice clubs.

“I now have the opportunity to play for a Championship club and I want to take it with both hands.

“I am ambitious, I am hungry to play and I can’t wait to get out there and get started.”

Hope will wear shirt number 28 for the Owls.
