Maghoma off the mark

13 August 2014

  • Jacques Maghoma pleased with winning start
  • Forward aiming to add to goal tally
  • Ex-Burton man looks ahead to Derby clash

Jacques Maghoma struck his first goal of the campaign on Tuesday in the Capital One Cup and the forward wants to build on that tally.

Without question, the winger knows the way to goal, having proven that in his time with Burton Albion before his switch to Hillsborough last summer.

Now off the mark early in 2014/15, Maghoma wants to kick on and help the Owls continue their promising start to the new term.

He told Wednesday Player: “It was a professional performance from the team, we knew we had to keep a high intensity and we finished the second half really strongly so it was pleasing.”

On scoring goals, Jacques continued: “I’ve said before, it’s part of my game that I need to improve on.

“Hopefully I can get many more goals and help the team through our journey this season.

“It’s my first goal of the season and I’m pleased because it’s only our second game, so hopefully against Derby I can kick on again and the team can push on after the start we’ve made.

“The mood has been great in pre-season and we’ve carried it on into the real thing. We are a tight group, everyone gets along and we all want to work hard for each other.”
