Sam Hutchinson: 'The future is bright'

  • Sam Hutchinson praises Owls' team spirit
  • Squad will only get stronger, says ex-Chelsea man
  • Credit goes to head coach Stuart Gray

Sam Hutchinson has aligned the Owls’ good start to the campaign with the high spirits in the dressing room.

After making an unbeaten start to the term, the ex-Chelsea ace has said the current squad is the tightest group he has worked with and apportions much of that to head coach Stuart Gray.

He said: “The lads are really motivated for this season. I think the management and staff have got us all together.

“For me personally, this is the tightest group I’ve ever worked with. I think that can only bode well for the team and the fans.

“It has to be down to the manager and the players he’s brought in and the ethos he’s got.

“Stu treats everyone as individuals. We’ve come together as a team. I think he has to take a lot of credit.”

With four Championship points already in the bag, Hutchinson believes the Owls can only get better.

He continued: “All of the boys to a man are great and they know where we want to go.

“The Derby game was a good performance and it was another clean sheet.

“Obviously Derby got to the play-off final and were unlucky not to go up but we worry about ourselves. It was a good performance and we can only get better.”
