- Claude Dielna joins the Owls
- French defender signs three-year deal
- Dielna can play in middle of rearguard or left back
Sheffield Wednesday have signed European defender Claude Dielna on a free transfer, subject to international clearance.
The versatile Frenchman has put pen to paper on a three-year contract at Hillsborough.
Dielna is a powerful central defender who can also switch across to left back.
The 26-year-old recently left Greek giants Olympiakos and the Owls have moved swiftly to snap up the stopper.
Dielna has enjoyed successful spells with French clubs Lorient, Istres, Sedan and Ajaccio, lifting the French National title with Istres.
He was linked with a host of English sides last season from the Premiership and Championship and joins Wednesday ahead of the trip to Bolton Wanderers in early September.
