- Wednesday face Nottingham Forest on Saturday (12.15pm)
- The Owls can go top of the Championship with a win
- Gray and Nuhiu hail impact of Owls supporters
After a superb start to the new campaign, Wednesday have remained undefeated in August with four wins and two draws from the opening six fixtures.
The flying start on all fronts has seen Wednesday head into Saturday’s fixture with Forest in the top six and a win over Stuart Pearce’s men in the lunchtime kick-off would see the Owls top the Championship.
Having put Middlesbrough to the sword on Saturday with a commanding performance at The Riverside, Wednesday travelled to Premier League side Burnley on Tuesday and toppled the Clarets to continue the League Cup run.
Like the Owls, Forest have enjoyed a positive start to 2014/15 and sit top of the pile in the Championship so this weekend’s crunch fixture has all the ingredients to be a cracker!
Owls head coach Stuart Gray said: “We’re delighted with the start, the boys are full of confidence and we have a buoyant dressing room.
“We know we will be tested on Saturday and we’ll need everybody on top form, including the supporters who have been magnificent this season.
“To see so many fans travel to Turf Moor in midweek and The Riverside on Saturday really helped the players pick up the results and we’ll need the same from them at Hillsborough.”
Tuesday’s match-winner Atdhe Nuhiu added: “The fans have been brilliant for us and we want to see them fill Hillsborough on Saturday and do what they do best.
“We get such a lift to see so many fans backing us at the games and the feeling when we deliver for them is the best.
“To score the goal at Burnley was special because it was a reward for the supporters and we want to give them even more and what better time to do that than this weekend to keep up the momentum.”
