#WallOfColour

1 August 2014

The #WallOfColour campaign, a Football League initiative, is urging fans to create a ‘Wall of Colour’ at the opening home league match of the season in hope that it will give their team a better chance of winning.

The campaign comes after research from performance coach Jamie Edwards that showed that fans who support their team through their club colours have a greater impact than traditional vocal support.

The report found the psychological effect of fans wearing club colours can significantly impact on the way players respond on the pitch. Previous studies have found 93% of communication is nonverbal, including on the football field.

The ‘Wall of Colour’ is set to be created by fans of their respective clubs at their opening matches by supporters wearing home shirts, scarfs and other club coloured clothing.
