The Owls’ academy recently hosted a coaching day held by Coerver Coaching.
The event focused on the importance of one V one ability in players and how this can be implemented into a programme.
The Foundation Phase staff used the day as a Continued Personal Development event and took plenty of valuable information on board.
The Under-10 group were used as participants and really enjoyed the sessions, gaining positive experience along the way.
Scott Wright from Coerver was pleased with how well the lads performed and so too was Foundation Phase Lead Coach Matt Burton, who said:
“The day was really good and highlighted the importance of creating players who are good in one V one situations in and out of possession, which a key area at the foundation phase.
“Our Technical Programme has a specific skills morning where we focus on this type of work so players can refine their skills.
“Ideas from the day will be used to keep improving the sessions we deliver to the players to make them as elite as possible.”
