Owls midfielder Giles Coke is nearing a return to first team action.
The 28-year-old has been sidelined with an Achilles injury and hasn’t featured for the Owls since the derby clash with Rotherham in early November.
But Coke – who has made 16 appearances this term – is hoping to be back within two weeks to give Owls head coach Stuart Gray further options in the engine room.
Coke said: “I’m feeling good and I hope to be back within two weeks.
“I don’t know how I hurt my Achilles. I think I was carrying the knock for a while and was playing through it.
“It just got to the stage where it was hurting too much so I had to stop.”
Coke began the season in fine form and scored a stunner on the opening day of the season away at Brighton to get the Owls off to a flying start.
The midfield man will be aiming to recapture that early season form upon his return in the New Year and added:
“I had an injection and had to wear a medical boot for ten days. It was a bit awkward but it feels much better now.”
