- Danny Batth returning to Hillsborough
- Wolves defender enjoyed two loans with Wednesday
- Batth helped the Owls to promotion two years ago
Danny Batth will be on familiar turf when he returns to Hillsborough on Saturday.
The Wolves central defender played a key role in Wednesday’s promotion to the Championship in 2012 having joined on loan from the Molineux side.
He has since firmly established himself at the heart of the Wolves rearguard, skippering the side along the way in the absence of club captain Sam Ricketts.
Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett said: “Danny’s in that group where he’s had extensive experience in League One with Colchester and Sheffield Wednesday and he had his first full season at Wolves last year.
“Now going up a level, he wants to re-prove himself.
“Most of us are in that situation and he’s one of those who needs to do that.
“Danny will come up against different combinations during the season and so far, he has handled himself well.
“Danny has been captain and that’s a big responsibility to go into a new division and do that.
“It’s a big challenge for him, and so far he’s risen to it well.
“His next challenge is to make sure he maintains those standards.”
