Lees looks forward to three vital games

10 December 2014

  • Owls host Wolves on Saturday
  • Next three games are vital, says Tom Lees
  • Wolves out of form with five straight defeats

Wolves, Fulham and Blackpool are Wednesday’s next three challengers and Tom Lees has said a good run during that period will leave the Owls well placed in the Championship.

Back to back wins has left Wednesday four points off the play-offs and with the halfway point of the term approaching, Lees wants to kick-on and mount a serious challenge.

“The next three games are vital for us,” Lees said.

“If we can get a good haul from them, then we will give ourselves that chance in the second half of the season to be in contention.”

Wolves began the term in fine form after their promotion back to the second tier but their form has dipped heading into the weekend clash with five straight defeats and no wins since October.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game, Lees added: “We can’t underestimate them.

“They might not be in the best of form but they have had some good results and have been near the top of the table for a long time.

“It’s down to us to start brightly and put them under pressure because they will be under pressure at the moment.”
