Opposition view: Wolves assess Owls challenge

11 December 2014

Kenny Jackett is seeking for a way to resolve his side’s dip in the Championship ahead of this weekend’s S6 meeting.

Five consecutive defeats has seen Wolves slip to 13th in the division after making a strong start to the term.

Confidence is a big factor and Jackett says his side must earn it and reverse this current run.

He said: “Football is about confidence, but you have to earn confidence. It’s not given to you. You can’t be waiting around, feeling sorry for yourself.

“You’ve got to roll up your sleeves and go and earn it. The chance is there every game to go and do that.”

Injured trio Scott Golbourne, Ethan Ebanks-Landell and Nouha Dicko will be absent for the visitors as will Matt Doherty, who is suspended.

On the Owls, the Molineux boss added: “Sheffield Wednesday have won their last two games and have a lot of power and pace.

“They are a big club and it will be a good atmosphere so we’ll have to defend and compete very well to certainly get a foothold in the game.

“It shows what a good start we had and how tight the league is that we are still only five points off the play-offs.”
