Second to none

3 December 2014

Stuart Gray has hailed the spirit in the camp as second to none as Wednesday look ahead to Saturday’s trip to Blackburn.

Having defeated Wigan on Saturday, the main thing for Gray is that the Owls demonstrate their strong character and produce against tough opposition this weekend.

Rovers have gone through October and November unbeaten and are in the play-off pack.

Gray said: “We have to go to Blackburn and build on what we achieved on Saturday. The character in this squad and the spirit is second to none and I have every confidence in this group of players.

“We started the season very well. Hopefully we can go on a good run following the Wigan win. I know these boys are capable of doing that.

“The most important thing is we are making progress. Our players are improving.”

Heading into the busy Christmas period, the victory over the Latics has provided the Owls with a welcomes lift and Gray added:

“In any season, there are always highs and lows.

“Our results were better at the start of this season than last year so there has been progression.

“You’ve always got to be setting new goals in this game.”
