The Owls Under-18s saw their friendly with Rotherham called off at Middlewood Road on Saturday morning due to the conditions of the pitch.
Low temperatures overnight had left the playing surface frosted over.
The youngsters were scheduled to face Coventry, though due to the Sky Blues’ involvement in the FA Youth Cup, the fixture was postponed.
To fill in the fixture-free weekend, a friendly with the Millers was arranged and academy coach Steven Haslam was disappointed that the game fell foul of the weather.
He told swfc.co.uk: "It was disappointing to cancel our friendly with Rotherham due to frost but we were left with no option. The safety of the players is paramount.
“We can now turn our attention to preparing for the FA Youth Cup fixture.
“We will be feeding information to the players in the coming days as we work towards achieving a positive performance and result against Stoke."
Wednesday face Stoke on Tuesday 16 December at Hillsborough, 7.00pm kick-off, while the clash with Coventry will now take place on Saturday 21 March, 11.00am kick-off.
