Under-21s back to winning ways

9 December 2014

The Owls Under-21s were back to winning ways on Tuesday afternoon with a convincing 3-0 triumph over Birmingham.

Striker Mani Dieseruvwe opened the scoring at Wast Hills after ten minutes and Caolan Lavery gave Wednesday a two-goal cushion just before the break.

Lavery sealed the win on the hour and Owls coach Lee Bullen was pleased with the response after defeat last week to Huddersfield.

He told swfc.co.uk: “We were very comfortable throughout the 90 minutes.

“It was a vast improvement on the Huddersfield performance which was very disappointing and it’s obviously great to be back on track.

“There were a lot of positives about the performance, Cameron Dawson was excellent, it was a bitterly cold afternoon but we went about our business in exactly the right way.

“It was comprehensive and good to get a win in the Northern League.

“We have been consistent away from home against teams in the Southern League and now we need that consistency in the Northern League.”

Owls: Dawson, Young (Croasdale 70), Floro, De Havilland, Beatson, McCabe, Stobbs (Brown 70), Corry, Lavery, Meadows, Dieseruvwe (Hanna 60)
