Wednesday midfielder Kieran Lee has won the swfc.co.uk Player of the Month award for January.
The versatile performer has been key for Wednesday during the recent run of resistance and featured in all seven games in January for the Owls.
The ex-Oldham man claimed the award with 32 per cent of the fans’ vote via swfc.co.uk, with striker Chris Maguire a close runner-up with 25 per cent.
Lee told swfc.co.uk: “Obviously I’m delighted that the fans have voted for me and appreciated how I’ve been performing.
“I think the award could have gone to any number of people in the squad because all the lads have done well.
“We’ve got some good results and we’re all happy with how we are going.
“It’s tough to ask for much more then we have achieved recently and we have to keep it going and keep building on it, like we did on Saturday against Barnsley.”
Following the dramatic win over the Tykes, Lee believes a result like that will only increase confidence in the camp, as he explained:
“Confidence is sky high. It was a tough game and when they went down to ten men, they made it hard for us.
“But football is all about getting three points above anything else and we got them.”
