Sheffield Wednesday can confirm that Lee Bullen has become a permanent member of the Owls’ coaching staff.
The former SWFC defender will take a crossover role of coaching with the senior squad and Under-21s.
Bullen told swfc.co.uk: “We have had discussions over the last couple of weeks and I delighted with the role.
“It’s been great working with Stuart Gray and he’s made it quite clear that he likes to have me around the first team and this is fabulous experience for me.
“I will remain primarily with the 21s as their professional development coach whilst also supporting Stuart and the first team staff.
“Stuart has amalgamated the first team and Under 21s squads often recently, the lads have been training together so I think this is a natural progression.”
Bullen was initially elevated to the first team set-up when head coach Stuart Gray stepped into the breach following the departure of Dave Jones in November.
As a player, the Scot made 142 appearances for the Owls between 2004 and 2008, and featured in all 11 positions including that of goalkeeper.
