Two Owls’ stars surprised diners at a Sheffield restaurant holding a VIP event in aid of a local children’s hospice.
Jose Semedo and Miguel Llera made an unexpected appearances at Zizzi on Leopold Square to show support for a fundraising night for Bluebell Wood - the Community Programme’s charity partner.
Through a combination of donations and an auction £1,612 was raised for the South Anston-based facility which cares for kids with a shortened life expectancy.
However, the restaurant also agreed to donate £1 for every customer served over the weekend and 602 meals later the final total was a huge £2,217.
Zizzi General Manager Kathryn Mosley thanked Sheffield Wednesday for supporting the evening.
She said: “Both the kind donation of auction prizes and the presence of Jose and Miguel proved how much the club cares about the local community and its charities.
“The players were a pleasure; spending time with the diners and making their nigh at memorable one.”
Defender Llera added: “Jose and I are regular visitors of Zizzi and were delighted when we were asked to support both the restaurant and such a worthwhile charity.
“The players have visited the hospice and have seen first-hand the amazing work they do so we would like to thank everyone who helped made the evening a huge success.”
