Chelsea too strong for Owls

15 January 2014

The Owls exited the FA Youth Cup 4-1 at the hands of Premiership giants Chelsea on Wednesday night.

The cup clash, played at Aldershot FC, developed into a largely dominant affair for Chelsea, who went into the break two goals to the good following strikes from Izzy Brown and Charly Musonda.

The Blues extended their lead in the second half when Charlie Collket converted from the penalty spot before Wednesday got on the scoresheet through Jack Stobbs.

But Chelsea added a fourth in the closing stages through Dominic Solanke to run out comfortable winners in soaking conditions in Hampshire.

The Under-18s are next in action this Saturday, 18 January, at home to local rivals Leeds (11.00am).
