Talented young footballers are being invited to apply for Sheffield Wednesday's Futsal Programme, offering first-class education and employment opportunities.
A popular sport that originated in Brazil, futsal is similar to football but is played on a smaller, indoor pitch between two teams of five players.
The SWFC Community Programme is now recruiting 16-19-years-old for the futsal scheme’s 30-week Level 1 BTEC Diploma in Sport which covers subjects from anatomy and sport psychology to fitness testing, exercise and nutrition.
There is also the opportunity to sign up for the extended Level 3 course, which runs over a full academic year, and the equivalent of up to three A-levels.
To qualify for the extended course applicants must a Minimum of four GCSEs at Grade C including Maths and English.
In additional to receiving first-class education and a valuable qualification in the sports industry, SWFC futsal scholars will also be given extensive training and the chance to represent SWFC in the national league.
