  • Owls coach says media world has changed completely
  • Bullen has qualification in journalism
  • Cameras from three countries follow Wednesdayin Slovenia

Lee Bullen has been speaking of the changing face of the media and its influence in football.

The Wednesday coach, himself qualified in journalism, acknowledges that the whole media landscape has changed since the advent of social media:

“Everything is out there now, on Twitter, on Facebook, on forums and it’s certainly now a 24-hour media world,” he told Wednesday Player in an exclusive in-depth interview.

“It’s changed so much since I was a player and it continues to change all the time.

“But harnessed properly, it can be so positive too because clubs can engage with supporters like never before.

“The thirst that this club has for information is just incredible. But as a club we embrace that with the media output that we have.”

He continued: “There is so much interest in Sheffield Wednesday because it is such a huge club.

“During pre-season here in Slovenia we have had the English media, the Russian media and the Slovenian media at our training ground.

“That’s the kind of exposure we have and we should be proud of it.”
