  • Chris Maguire feeling the benefits of Slovenia camp
  • Striker wants to better his 2013/14 goal tally
  • Owls squad in good shape on day four

Chris Maguire has said he aims to go up a level and beat his tally of ten goals from last season in the 2014/15 campaign.

The striker was the Owls’ top scorer last term and his ambition is to hold on to that crown.

He told swfc.co.uk: “I managed to get double figure goals last season and prove what I’m all about at this level.

“With a full pre-season under my belt, I’m confident I can replicate that this season and score even more goals.”

On day four of the Slovenia pre-season training camp, Maguire is happy with how things are progressing in Maribor.

The Owls have been hard at work in Slovenia’s second largest city and are set to face Russian side FC Arsenal Tula to round off the five-day training camp on Wednesday.

“These trips are always important in pre-season for a number of reasons.

“This is where you put the hard work in and get your fitness levels up. But equally as important is the chance to bond with your team mates and that’s what we have done.

“The lads are looking sharp, we’re giving everything and tomorrow we have a tough game to finish the trip which is something to look forward to.”
