Northern Ireland youngster Paul McElroy has agreed a one-year deal with Sheffield Wednesday.
The left winger, who can also play at left back, will sign for the Owls on 1 July.
McElroy graduated through the academy at Premiership side Hull City to pen a professional deal in the summer of 2013.
He links up with Wednesday 12 months later with ambitions to break into the first team set-up under Stuart Gray.
He told swfc.co.uk: “I played in a couple of trial games if you like earlier this year and thankfully did well.
“I was really impressed with the place and I already think I have a good feel for Sheffield Wednesday.
“I’m a left winger primarily – that is my favourite position – but I have also played at left back.
“I want to get a good pre-season under the belt now and my aim is to play in the first team for Wednesday.”
McElroy has also progressed on the international stage having represented Northern Ireland from Under-15 level through to the Under-21s.
He added: “Eventually I would love to play for the Northern Ireland first team but for now I am concentrating on my club football with Sheffield Wednesday.”
