Young people wanted for National Citizen Service programme

4 June 2014

The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme are on the search for young people to sign up for this year’s National Citizen Service (NCS).

NCS, a government-funded youth programme, is designed to bring together young people from diverse backgrounds to teach team work and communication skills within their local community.

If you are or will soon be aged 16 - 17, the NCS is an opportunity that will help you build up work and life skills. It’s also a great way to take on new challenges and meet new friends.

The scheme, which is facilitated by the club’s community programme, enables young people to broaden skills that they might not be able to gain in school or college. The NCS is also recognised by the University application tool, UCAS, which could give students the added edge when applying for Higher Education courses.

The Summer NCS programme,is ran over a three/four week period and is available for £50 which is refundable on completion.

To register your interest in the NCS go to www.ncsflt.co.uk or call the commuity on 0114 221 2151 or e-mail Marcus.brameld@swfc.co.uk
