The Owls’ Under-18s posted a convincing 5-1 win against Premiership side Swansea in Wales on Saturday morning.
Charlie Dawes was the thorn in the Swans’ side, firing a hat-trick to continue his promising campaign.
An own goal from the hosts and a further strike from Sean Mullan completed the rout.
Wednesday coach Steve Haslam said: “It was a fantastic display by the team today and sets the standard for how we want the boys to go about their business.
“We recognised the qualities of Swansea City and did our match preparation and it was pleasing to see the lads take on the information and execute the game plan.
“Our work rate and togetherness was first class and in possession we moved the ball around at speed and our front players caused problems throughout the game.
“Charlie Dawes took his goals well and we possibly could have scored more goals but overall the performance and result was very positive."
