Owls fall at Forest

21 March 2014

Wednesday fell to a disappointing 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Friday.

The visitors went behind with less than a minute on the clock and never really recovered from the early set back.

After a goalmouth scramble from a corner, Tyler Walker managed to scramble the ball over the line to stun Wednesday.

David Prutton saw his volley from the edge of the box well blocked out by Forest defenders and Paul Corry was halted in his tracks by a last ditch Illias Polimos challenge, as the Owls looked to respond.

Forest turned the screw after the restart and went close through midfielder Josh Rees, who hit the post.

The hosts, though, edged further in front on 77 minutes when a Jorge Grant cross from the left was met by a bullet Walker header from a tight angle.

And Forest were out of sight two minutes later.

Kamal Guthmy crossed from the left, but his attempted delivery looped over goalkeeper Joe Wildsmith’s head and into the net.
