Taylor stunner selected

25 March 2014

The League Football Education Goal of the Month prize for January went to Owls youngster Jack Stobbs and another Wednesday academy product is in the running to land the February award.

Jack Taylor is on the eight-man shortlist to win the LFE goal of the month for his stunning strike against Derby last month at Middlewood Road.

The ball fell to the midfielder 20 yards from goal, who struck first time into the top corner leaving the despairing Rams goalkeeper with no chance and in turn, earning the Owls a point in the 1-1 draw.

Taylor is carving a reputation for himself in front of goal, as this is not the first time the midfielder has struck in impressive fashion.

During the Owls’ FA Youth Cup victory over Crystal Palace in December, Taylor blasted home from 25 yards at Hillsborough and was selected in the LFE Goal of the Month shortlist.
