Under-18s march on

8 March 2014

The Sheffield Wednesday Under-18s secured back to back away wins on Saturday with a 1-0 win over Coventry City.

The game was decided by a Charlie Dawes first half strike, who scored his fourth goal from his last two games.

In a close fought contest, the Owls almost added to their lead with Jack Stobbs and Franck Betra both going close, while Joe Wildsmith had to remain alert and made a fine fingertip save in the final few moments to keep City at bay.

Steve Haslam said: "The players deserve credit today for the good battling qualities they showed to win the game in tricky conditions.

“We wanted our lads to show more quality and composure on the ball and I was delighted to see the boys grafting to keep a clean sheet and continue our unbeaten run."
