The play-offs may have proved a step too far for Wednesday this season, but the club’s incredible supporters posted a top-six finish.
The Owls ended the 2013/14 campaign with an average attendance of 21,274, which gave the club sixth spot in the Championship attendance stakes.
Given the team struggled for the first half of the season and Wednesday missed out on the traditionally well-attended contests, the figures are all the more impressive.
The first game, Boxing Day and last game all yield higher than average gates around the country – but this year, the Owls missed out on all three!
However, with Season Ticket sales strong so far – almost 11,500 were sold in the Early Bird period for 2014/15 – the intention is to aim even higher next time round!
