The Sheffield Wednesday Community Programme and Sheffield Hallam University are pleased to announce a unique partnership aiming to take both institutions to new heights.
The association will fundamentally develop the BTEC Level 3 module undertaken by SWFC Community Programme students to aid the crucial transition into university.
In addition, Sheffield Hallam University will install experienced guest lecturers into the Owls’ Community Programme, with students receiving a head start on the education pathway.
SWFC and Sheffield Hallam University already enjoy a rich affiliation in terms of student investment through departmental internships and external relations that will continue to grow.
The Owls’ CSR Development Manager Spencer Taylor said: “We are proud of our partnership with Sheffield Hallam University, which has paid significant dividends for both parties to date.
“The transitional support of students from BTEC level into university is key and students can only benefit from the expert tuition Sheffield Hallam University will provide.
“We look forward to extending and developing this relationship in the long term.”
Rob Wilson, External Relations Lead at Sheffield Hallam University, added: “Our partnership with Sheffield Wednesday continues to go from strength to strength and underlines the commitment of the University to collaborate with major players in sport to provide exceptional learning experiences for our students.
“We are delighted we are able to work in partnership with SWFC to support the development of their BTEC programme in this way and support the transition for players into Higher Education at Sheffield Hallam University, creating a genuine pathway to develop their skills and experience with one of the largest providers of sport related education in the UK.”
