A matter of time

Jeremy Helan believes it’s a matter of time before things click at Hillsborough for Wednesday.

On home soil, the Owls have negotiated a tricky start to the campaign facing the likes of Derby, Nottingham Forest, Ipswich, Watford and Norwich.

All those sides will no doubt have ambitions of at least making the play-offs but having lost just two games in S6 and three in total this season, Helan is highlighting the positives.

He told swfc.co.uk: “We’ve played some good teams at home and sometimes they’ve been battles.

“If we can put pressure on the other team, we won’t be beaten and that the crowd will get excited.

“Like the gaffer says, we need to be better on our patch. We all know that and Bournemouth will be a good game against a good team.

“We want to prove that we have been unlucky lately.”

Bournemouth head to Hillsborough in an automatic promotion position which highlights their fine season so far.

Helan added: “Sometimes there is more pressure on us at home. Away, you feel free and the pressure is on the home team.

“I don’t think there’s much difference, though. You still need to win the game no matter if it’s home or away.

“It’s about winning the game, but if you don’t win it, it’s about not losing it.

“We are a solid team but we need to kill teams off.

“We have the players to score goals; Royston has come in, Chris Maguire can score goals, Atdhe has scored goals. Jacques can create chances as well. It’s about being together as a team.”
