Charity partner – Weston Park Cancer Hospital Charity

29 November 2014

Today’s charity partner is Weston Park Cancer Hospital Charity, the organisation that works to support and fund the work of Weston Park Hospital.

This festive season Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity is asking the local community to remember the vital work of the hospital and donate to The Christmas Star Appeal.

Earlier this year, 30 year old father of 2, Ben, was given the devastating news that all treatment options for his cancer were exhausted; meaning that his future is now very uncertain.  Despite their unimaginable situation Ben and his wife, Jen have generously agreed to support Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity’s Christmas Star Appeal.

Ben said, Weston Park Hospital Cancer Charity is the only dedicated charity for the hospital and exists to support world-class cancer research and to improve the treatment and care for people living with cancer.

The charity needs to raise more than £2 million this year to fund a wide range of projects that will keep Weston Park Hospital at the forefront of cancer care.

The charity will be having a bucket collection and today’s match and welcome any donations from Owls fans.

Donations to the appeal can be made via post, online at www.Christmasstarappeal.org.uk or by texting WPCC14 followed by the amount you would like to donate (£1, £3, £5 or £10) to 70070.
