Sheffield Wednesday would like to congratulate SWFC Community Programme Patron Jamie McDonnell on the successful defence of his WBA bantamweight title.
The Doncaster-born champion stopped his opponent Javier Chacon in the tenth round on Saturday at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.
The boxer announced his support and commitment to the club’s Community Programme earlier this month and will now actively promote and drive forward the positive work.
His key responsibilities will involve him working in schools around the area and working to inspire children to achieve in sport and education.
As well as helping to promote the work of the Community Programme, Jamie will become the face of the Premier League 4 Sport boxing strand and work directly with young people who take part in the sport.
