Owls coach Lee Bullen has said it is vital for his Under-21 squad to be playing week in, week out in order to be best prepared for the rigours of first team football.
The next league fixture will take place on Monday 1 December against Huddersfield and with that in mind, the Owls have arranged two friendly games this month.
The Under-21s face Burnley at Middlewood Road tomorrow (1.00pm) and then Middlesbrough one week later on 18 November (1.00pm).
Bullen said: “We have to wait three weeks until our next league game but it’s important we keep these young lads playing week in, week out.
“They need to get used to a tough schedule because that’s what is required of you at first team level.
“Burnley will field five or six senior players and I’m sure Middlesbrough will take the opportunity to do the same.”
