Under-18s coach Steven Haslam was delighted with his side’s victory over Yorkshire rivals Leeds on Saturday.
The Owls returned to winning ways in style at Middlewood Road, beating the Whites 3-1, with goals from Spencer Brown, Mason Duffy and Freddy Tracey putting the game beyond the visitors.
Haslam spoke to swfc.co.uk after the game and said: “I was really pleased with how the boys performed and thought we thoroughly deserved the victory.
"The first half was probably the best we've played this season. The ball retention was good and we created a lot of opportunities through our energy, clever movement and use of the ball."
With goals being hard to come by of late, Haslam heaped additional praise on the strike partnership of Tracey and Duffy, adding:
"I thought the front two were excellent and set the tone for our performance.
“We were a real threat going forward and the boys got their just rewards with a goal apiece."
The Owls’ youngsters now head into the international break, with their next game a trip to Barnsley on Saturday 22 November.
