- Under-18s strike back at Barnsley
- Freddy Tracey on the spot
- Jack Stobbs on comeback trail
The Owls’ Under-18s posted a creditable 1-1 draw from a hard-fought derby contest at local rivals Barnsley on Saturday.
Freddy Tracey was on target for Wednesday in the second period, cancelling out the Reds’ opener before the break from a set piece.
As expected, the game was physical and demanding on both sides, played on a heavy pitch that led to a largely scrappy affair.
Coach Steven Haslam said: “I was disappointed to concede from a corner because each player is assigned a specific job which wasn’t carried out on this occasion.
“But credit must go to the boys for battling back to earn a decent away point, especially considering we finished the game with eight first year scholars and one Under-16 player."
