Jack Stobbs makes Owls comeback

  • Halsam delighted to have the youngster back

Owls winger Jack Stobbs made his comeback for the Owls Under-18s on Saturday.

The academy product has endured a frustrating season so far having sustained ligament damage in his right ankle during Wednesday’s pre-season trip to Matlock.

The 17-year-old suffered a further blow upon his return to training and damaged ligaments in his left ankle.

Stobbs has successfully come through his rehabilitation programme at the club and featured for 60 minutes during the Under-18s’ encounter with Barnsley at the weekend.

Steven Haslam said: "Jack has endured a frustrating time in the last couple of months, but he has worked hard with the medical staff throughout his rehab and general fitness.

“It was good to see him in action again and come through a 60-minute appearance for the Under-18s.

“On a tricky playing surface he showed some glimpses of real quality and he'll be looking to build on that now in the coming weeks."

Stobbs could feature for the Owls' Development Squad on Tuesday in the friendly with Chesterfield.
