- Jose Semedo backs Owls strikers
- Midfielder says SWFC will come back stronger after the break
- Huddersfield next-up for Wednesday on 22 November
Owls midfielder Jose Semedo has backed the strikers to fire on all cylinders after the international break.
Wednesday recorded their tenth clean sheet of the campaign on Saturday against Rotherham but were also held by the Millers in the goalless draw.
Semedo is not concerned by the current run in front of goal and has every confidence in the personnel at the club.
He told swfc.co.uk: “At the moment in time, there is a fine line between winning and losing.
“We are in these games and they are close but sometimes during the season you will go through a spell like this.
“I believe we have some excellent strikers here, we see them every day in training and they are quality.
“Stevie May was right on it on Saturday, before Gary Taylor-Fletcher came off he was giving the defenders problems, we know what Atdhe can do, he’s a very good player.”
Wednesday now have a free weekend and resume their league campaign against Huddersfield on Saturday 22 November.
Semedo believes the Owls will be refreshed after the international break and added:
“It’s not a worry, it’s all about winning. Nobody wants to lose, we are making it difficult for teams to score goals which is good for us.
“Over the break, we will be working very hard and I’m sure we will see an improvement.
“It’s a simple view to look at it and say when you are conceding goals, the goalkeeper and defenders need to change, when you are not scoring the strikers need to change.
“I think everybody has to do that little bit extra; provide the strikers with better balls and at set pieces, everybody is looking to provide a goal threat.
“I’m sure it will come, our fans have been amazing with us, that’s why Wednesday for me is one of the best clubs in the division.
“We will turn this around for them, that is for sure.”
